Living in Nokia means enjoying nature and more affordable living than in Tampere, while still having the services of a larger city close by. Our resident Venla Suominen shares her experiences of Joo Kodit, what it’s like to live in Nokia, and how it feels to move from one Joo apartment to another.

First rental home of her own with Joo Kodit

Venla Suominen moved to Nokia from a small town about six months ago for work. She chose a rental apartment from Joo Kodit because the company felt reliable, this was especially important for a young person moving into their first home on their own. Customer service was quick, the online listing had clear photos of the apartment, and arranging a viewing was easy. She was also pleasantly surprised by the communal spaces in the building, such as a gym, laundry room and sauna. Still, moving into her very first rental home felt exciting, and a little nerve-wracking.

Moving from one Joo apartment to another

After living in her first Joo apartment for a while, Venla realised she wanted a slightly larger home. She started browsing available apartments nearby and soon noticed that Joo Kodit had a vacant rental home just a short distance from her current one.

Based on the photos and a 360-degree video, the apartment looked promising, and Venla decided to move without a separate viewing. She already had a positive impression of the building, as one of her relatives lived in the same apartment building.

Venla’s new home is, above all, a calm space, where she can truly relax and breathe. One of her favourite features of her new home is the spacious, bright balcony with a beautiful forest view. She describes athmosphere with the community in the building as pleasant and welcoming, with neighbours who greet each other and create a warm, easy-going atmosphere.

-There are all kinds of people living here. Everyone has always greeted me kindly and held the door open. The neighbours here are genuinely nice people, Venla says, recalling her encounters in the building.

Services and nature close to home

Nokia is a growing city and the second-largest in the Pirkanmaa region, right after Tampere. Trains and buses run frequently, and Tampere city centre can be reached in under 20 minutes. Bus connections to Tampere’s Central Square are especially convenient.

For Venla, Nokia was already familiar from childhood, which originally drew her to the city. Childhood memories and warm encounters have made it a meaningful place for her.

-People here might smile at you — or even say hello in the grocery store, Venla reflects.

Nokia suits people who enjoy a calmer pace of life, spacious walking routes and a friendly atmosphere. Venla describes the city in three words: peaceful, warm and good-vibe-giving.

Despite its calm feel, services are plentiful. As a café lover, Venla enjoys the fact that there are three cosy cafés within about a 20-minute walk from her home. Nearby, she also finds both a K-Supermarket and a Prisma. For indoor exercise enthusiasts, Nokia offers a surprisingly wide range of gyms — at least ten, in addition to other sports facilities.

Why does Venla recommend Joo Kodit?

When asked whether she would recommend Joo Kodit to a friend, Venla’s answer is immediate:

-Absolutely, without a doubt! I’d describe Joo Kodit as the best option. If you want things to be handled quickly and get good service, Joo Kodit is the one, she says.
