Joo Hetki – a shared space for neighbors

At the end of January, we celebrated the opening of our new resident space, Joo Hetki, in Toppilansalmi, Oulu. It has been wonderful to see how many of our residents have already found their way there during the first weeks.

Joo Hetki is located at Satamatie 5, on the ground floor of our Mallastohtori building. The space is available free of charge to Joo Kodit residents in Toppilansalmi on weekdays from 7 am to 9 pm.

A space for many kinds of moments

As a Joo Kodit tenant, you can come to Joo Hetki to study, work remotely, play board games, or simply take a moment to unwind. Since the space is shared, you may also meet other tenants while you’re there. Who knows — you might find a new coffee companion or start a spontaneous card game.

Community in everyday living

In practice, Joo Hetki offers a place where neighbours can get to know each other naturally. As the space becomes part of everyday life, it creates more encounters, conversations, and familiar faces. Over time, these small moments help strengthen the sense of community in the neighbourhood.
